I am thankful I'm not a turkey,
When it talks it says
nothing but "gobble."
When it walks it does
nothing but wobble.
It lives on a farm with
hundreds of friends.
But on Thanksgiving a
turkey's life ends.

At school this week, Matthew had to write his own poem about what he's thankful he is not based on the poem written above. It's pretty cute so here it is: (*note* he's in 3rd grade, so spelling might not be spot on)

and not for jerkey.
I'm thankful for meat and
not for a neat beat.
I'm thankful for fun,
not for none.
I'm thankful for gobbles
not wobbles.
I'm thankful for a fish,
not a dish.
I'm thankful for legos,
not begles. (bagels)
The last 2 lines just cracked me up. :) Love that kid!
