Our Father, who art in Heaven....

So every now and then I try to teach Matthew something new.

For instance, I taught him a prayer that my grandma taught me when I was little... the one that goes....

"Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep,

if I should die before I wake,

I pray the Lord my soul to take."

Then we bless all the important people in our lives at the end.

Matthew knows that one very well.

So at church we always do the Lord's Prayer. So I've been working on teaching Matthew that one. I say a few words then have him repeat after me.

Well last night was kind of interesting.

I get to the part "thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven...."

So Matthew repeats, thy will be done on "mars"... Mars, that's far far away, huh Mom. That's funny, huh Mom?

Lol, where did he come up with that??? Obviously the kid watches way too much TV, but I thought that was so darn cute AND smart!!! He really surprises me sometimes.

Another neat Matthew moment happened with my mom. Phoenix was pretending to be the statue of Liberty and Matthew had to correct him and show him that she carries her torch way in the air and which arm too.

Wow... The things that kid picks up on. Sometimes he's wise beyond his years but sometimes he's about a year or so behind.
