Unless you follow me on Facebook or IG, you probably haven't about our new family adventure in store for this winter. Well, as you know, we purchased our 1st Boston Terrier for Matthew back in October. By Christmas time, a plan had hatched. We decided to start raising these fun, little dogs as a family. So therefore, the hunt began for a male. I decided to outsource a male by checking out all of the listings on puppyfind.com I found a male I was interested in, in Pennsylvania. A brindle. Upon further investigating, I decided he would be too big for Beans. But, she had a couple of other males still available, a blue, a smaller brindle, and a black and white. I was looking for something other than black and white. Lo and behold, we ended up with the black and white. I about died when she sent me updated pictures of him because I wasn't sold on his newborn pictures, he was just too little. His litter name was "Lucky." Seemed like the perfect pup for our Lucky little family of 3! So we bought him. What sold me on him was his parents. His Dad is a black brindle and white with the blue gene in his pedigree (the pup's grandpa is a blue splash!!!) and his Mom is a reverse blue brindle. This little guy should produce some color!!!! (we hope!) It took him a while to get to me (due to the fact he wasn't ready to go when I purchased him, and then the weather got nasty, but he arrived via airplane at the end of January), but he was definitely worth the wait. Sean ended up naming him Finnegan. He has the cutest registered name: "Lucky 'Lil Finnegan"
Meanwhile, as I'm waiting for Finnegan to get old enough to come home. I decide I need a female with blue in her pedigree to cross with Finnegan. Again, I do some checking on puppyfind.com and find a female in Oklahoma. This female was 10 or 11 weeks old at the time, and that whole experience was a breeze getting her home. She was shipped in the early part of January. Her litter name was Lana, so we decided to call her Luna. She kind of reminds me of Luna on Harry Potter. Different, but pretty. She's a champagne and white Boston out of champagne parents that carry the blue gene.
In the meantime of all of this going on, we found another female that stays with Matthew's grandparents from our home state of SD. Her name is BB. She's such a pretty dog too.
As if that wasn't enough... we stumbled across 1 more female. "Ginger" is a red Boston that we couldn't pass up. Such a sweetheart.
So that's our story. We are looking forward to our babies growing up and producing their own babies down the road. Matthew is super excited about all of this. At one point in his life, he really didn't take much of an interest in animals. Boy all that has changed since we bought a house and he likes it when Grandma has puppies (Mini Aussies), every now and then. It's nice to see a boy emphasize with animals, because not so many years ago, that was foreign territory for us. :)
